Catheryn is a Gender Consultant on the Global Report on Women in Tourism (UNWTO, UN Women, World Bank, GIS, Amadeus). She serves on the advisory board of the International Tourism and Investment Conference as a gender expert, is the founder of Women Academics in Tourism (WAiT).

Leading Women in the Future

Catheryn is a gender expert and thought leader, training women with the skills required to excel in their careers. In 2020, she designed and delivered digital competency training to women entrepreneurs in Ecuador and Mexico with funding from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Tourism Management & Training

With her vast international experience of working with destinations across the globe, Catheryn advises governments, destination management organisations (DMOs) and tourism stakeholders on the inclusive and holistic development of products and services.

Catheryn also consults individual businesses on developing women-focused tourism products.

Tourism Research

Catheryn is associated with tourism research in various capacities. She is a Professor at the Torrens University, Australia; Editor-in-Chief of Tourism Management Perspectives; and Series Editor for the “Perspectives on Asian Tourism” published by Springer. Catheryn has co-published two books on women in tourism (Asian Genders in Tourism and Women and Travel: Historical and Contemporary Perspectives) and many other articles in international journals.
